Introduction

Hello, my name is Moriah. I started this blog to share with family and friends about mine and my husband's adventures in the Caribbean. This first post is a little introduction to who we are and how we ended up in St. Vincent.

Luke & I met 5 years ago as college freshman at the ice rink at Pensacola Christian College. We were just friends for a year, and started dating our sophomore year. We fell madly in love and were engaged on 5-5-15. ❤️ We both worked for a year, saving money before getting married on July 9, 2016.

That year of long distance was difficult, but it helped us grow in our faith. Luke did not get accepted to medical school his first year, so the year leading up to our wedding, we were praying and waiting on God to lead us to whatever school He wanted Luke in. It was difficult to wait and see other friends planning their lives while we waited and waited some more, hoping to find out where we would live after we got married.

On May 1, 2016, Luke finally heard back from the last school we were waiting on, and made his decision to attend Trinity School of Medicine. With two months to go before the wedding, it was a whirlwind of plans and decisions, but we were able to get everything together. For me, it meant I'd have to say goodbye to most of my family and friends on my wedding day, without knowing exactly when I'd see them again.

There we are! Finally married! ❤️ We honeymooned for two weeks, then spent the rest of the time with Luke's various family members, spending time in WV, MN, and AZ.

It's amazing to me how God worked everything out for Luke to attend medical school at TSOM (Trinity School of Medicine). Some of his family actually came to SVG (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) a year ago on a missions trip, so before even arriving here, we knew we'd have a good church to attend. We are so grateful for how God worked out the details and has blessed and provided for us!
